GameZilla:
"A good expansion pack, Yuri's Revenge builds on the design
strengths of Red Alert 2 and preserves the same 'high balance'
present in the first game. Westwood keeps the game at a reasonable
level, a little bit tougher to beat than the first game and
obviously designed for a player familiar with Red Alert 2, but
with a learning curve that won't outpace you as you learn the new
units."

"Overall, Yuri’s Revenge adds the things one would expect
from an expansion pack, and delivers some decent gameplay in the
process. The game offers more of the quirky humor of the Command
& Conquer Red Alert series, as well as the melodramatic
cut-scenes that Westwood has become famous for. Fans of the series
will definitely come away pleased with their purchase."

It's been a while since I last played a C&C game, but this
expansion pack has renewed my zeal for the style and sheer
all-round gaming experience of playing a Westwood title.

"A great deal is included in Yuri's Revenge. The
single-player campaign will take you 16 - 20 hours to complete,
the storyline is engaging and humorous, a co-op campaign will test
your teamplay skills and the multiplayer has been expanded with an
entire army of new units and structures. This is what an expansion
pack should be ... tons more of everything you enjoyed from the
first game with just enough new stuff to keep you guessing. Yuri's
Revenge is a treat for fans of Red Alert 2."

"Yuri's revenge is one of the best add-ons released for ages.
The single player missions are challenging enough with interesting
mission objectives and the multiplayer speaks for itself. With the
excellent unit balancing and the top-notch Westwood Online palying
this game online is painless. Yuri's revenge is a real corker,
Yuri has certainly taken control of my mind and the C&C
universe just goes from strength to strength. This is one game you
can't afford to be without."

"Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge is the most fun I've had playing
a game in a long time. When you beat a mission, the thrill of
victory is stronger than ever. The strategies and techniques you
will have to use to destroy the enemy will have you marveling at
your own tactile prowess. When it's all over and the atomic waste
has cleared, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge is
fun. It's as simple as that. And isn't that what gaming is all
about?"

scheduled. Well, their latest expansion pack for Red Alert 2,
called Yuri's Revenge, appeared just in time, and represents one
of the most impressive expansion packs for a game I have ever
seen."

justify the asking price and you're unlikely to be interested in
playing the original Red Alert 2 once you've tasted what the
expansion has to offer."

"This is an add-on pack designed for the Red Alert elite,
people who still play RA2 almost a year after it came out. The
missions on this extra disc could be knocked over in a single
weekend of dedicated play, but the real value will come in the
extra scope for mayhem. Whether this is acted out through rigorous
online sessions, or endless rounds at skirmish to perfect exotic
tactics, the value is there for those who know they'll play it
around the clock. As Yuri says: "Why settle for one country,
when I can rule the world!"

"Welcome to Yuri's Revenge, the first official expansion to
the excellent C&C Red Alert 2. But don't let that 'expansion'
word fool you; there's a lot more going on here than just more
missions. Suffice it to say that if you own RA2, you should own
Yuri."

"Building upon its predecessor, the expansion takes the best
qualities and beefs them up by introducing a nice side story and
bringing in even more outlandish and entertaining units. While
there still isn’t a direct option in multiplayer, there is some
nice additions to the Internet option with a more suitable
Westwood Online interface, accompanied with more modes. Aside from
that (serious) omission, Yuri manages to bring a fantastic arsenal
with him this time around."

"Instead of tacking on a few extra missions and adding a few
new units the developer, Westwood, have gone the ‘whole hog’
and built a whole new force for you to fight against in a fully
orchestrated campaign. Yuri’s Revenge is full of new units, lots
of new strategies and lots of other toys and elements to keep you
interested."

GamesDomain:
"With a common enemy in Yuri, Westwood has fully fleshed out
Yuri's army with the same style and depth given to the Allies and
Soviet powers. Though none of the 14 included missions allow
players to play as Yuri, his army is available for multiplayer and
skirmish modes. Additionally, Westwood has included several new
units for the Allies and Soviets that further balances gameplay."

Don't be compelled to buy Yuri's Revenge, the official expansion
to last year's Red Alert 2, just because the box shows a
mind-controlling maniac giving you the cold stare--besides that,
there are plenty of perfectly good reasons for owning the game.
This impressive add-on to the fun and frantic Red Alert 2 does
what other great real-time strategy expansion packs, such as The
Conquerors for Age of Empires II and Brood War for Starcraft, have
done before--it makes an already great game even better, not only
by piling on new features, but also by adding enough significant
enhancements that the result stands out as being not just broader
than its predecessor, but legitimately different. That means
Yuri's Revenge will more than likely renew your interest in
Westwood's over-the-top game.

[October 10, 2001] Score:
8.6/10
IGNPC:
Tactically the game has changed quite a bit. You're no longer
presiding over battles between the Soviets and Allies. Now you're
fighting against Yuri's minions. With an impressive array of
mind-control techniques at his disposal, Yuri can make short work
of your forces. The solution seems to be in long-range weapons and
garrisoned structures. This makes snipers and prism tanks much
more important than they've been in the past. Yuri's reliance on
gatling weapons (which deal greater damage the longer they
operate) also necessitates the use of long-range weapons.
