Attack  ...written by Anthony Cortes

Chapter 1

It was cold and brisk. Russia was in a state of famine since the U.S. discontinued their oil and food supply. But something was going down, something bad. As children played on the streets tanks rolled by...the children stared. Migs flew overhead. Most families were inside in fear that the USSR would take the men and enlist them as Conscripts. Most people didn’t know what for, but they knew if something were going to happen, it would happen soon. The Rhino tanks pulled up into a restricted area where kids were peeking in at the factory warehouses where the Soviets kept their new Apocalypse tank. It was getting late and dark, so as the sun went down, the children deserted the streets.

The next morning something was different. It was quieter and the sky was empty. Then everyone had noticed the tanks were gone, and the planes were nowhere to be found. As families gathered around the radio, they heard this:

My god, Brent this is terrible, debris everywhere, buildings collapsing. Chaos and confusion everywhere and people are running and screaming. BOOM! A crashing sound could be heard in the background. Then the broadcast turned to the anchor and then he stated: "Well we seem to have lost contact with Jim, our man in the field, but we have just gotten word that it appears to be, yes the USSR attacking Texas, DC, and New York on several fronts!" We advise everyone to lock their doors and windows, and don’t come out unless told to by the U.S. army. Stick with us for full coverage...we'll stay on the air as long as we can.

The tanks the kids had been staring at were now attacking the US. It was unbelievable. How could this happen? Everyone knew that Russia was going under. This was pointless. But the war was real nonetheless.

People in the US were sitting around the TV, staring awestruck. The footage showed huge tanks crushing cars and big blimps dropping massive bombs on US cities. There was even special secret footage of a Soviet base from a helicopter. Shortly the footage ended as the helicopter was shot down. Paratroopers were falling from the sky like rain. Most cities were abandoned, especially on the east coast. Fires were spreading, and tanks were crossing the country destroying everything in sight.

Then the US troops came in with planes and armed ground forces. From the looks of it, the US troops were gaining the upper hand. But that is only what the people saw. They didn’t know it yet, but the President had fled to Canada. The US was practically leaderless, and then the US troops were pushed back once again by the Soviet navy. Harbors were abandoned, and many people were trying to flee the country from the Soviets.

The TV cast came back on again. This time the cameraman was running...pointing his camera upwards, and Soviet conscripts could be seen falling from the sky. He kept on running, and then he saw a shoot out in the street. A couple shots fired, and then the civilian was shot dead. The last thing the TV showed was the cameraman turning around and then it went to static. All the channels were static now. The Soviets were pushing Westward to Wyoming, then taking Colorado Springs, Colorado. The US had taken a big blow, but wasn’t defeated. They still had their special device the "Chronoshpere".
