Chapter 1: The Invasion

It was a brisk cool evening on January 19th, the day before the Soviet invasion of North America. Lt. Matthews was sitting on the porch with his wife on Andrew’s Air Force Base. They were discussing what would happen if America went to war again some time soon.

After a night of restlessness and hard thinking, Lt. Matthews finally fell asleep at 0400. At approximately 0700, the invasion had begun. The US Forces had been unprepared and unaware, the Reds had some how been able to sneak past the satellites and patrol boats. The Soviets had caught Americans off guard on all borders and fronts.

At 0705, Lt. Matthews awoke to a loud air raid siren. He got dressed and within 2 minutes had ran to the armory, picked up his 50 caliber sniper rifle, 5 box of 50 caliber ammunition, a silenced 45 caliber, and a couple grenades. He rushed to the C-130 Hercules that was about to head for New York, the hardest hit of all states. After an hours ride in a crowded plane surrounded by three Harriers and five Korean made Black Eagle fight jets. Lt. Matthews didn’t yet realize how massive the attack must have been if so many planes protected a C-130 Hercules cargo plane. By the time the C-130 and pack of fighters reached New York… Long Island and Manhattan had been taken, the Statue of Liberty demolished, the Empire State Building a heap of twisted steel and burning rubble, and the World Trade Center just being taken over.

Allied forces had been pushed back as far as Lake Ontario, and were boarding Transport Carriers to cross the lake. Shortly after 0800, the C-130 Hercules landed in New Jersey. The Harriers and Black Eagles stayed in the air, and begun to head for Long Island Sound, in an effort to fight back the Dreadnoughts, not knowing that the feared Sea Scorpion Anti-Aircraft Vessel was nearby, and the makeshift squadron of fighters were shot down immediately. Lt. Matthews jumped in the nearest Hum-Vee and headed for Buffalo. Lucky for Matthews, 7th Corp Armor Division was heading to the same exact place, along with 102nd Infantry Division and Beta Squadron. The USS Wasp, Enterprise, and George Washington were already on Lake Ontario. The Allied Forces were to set up a base in Canada and utilize operations from there.

After a 2-hour drive, Matthews finally received his orders. He was to watch over and make sure the transition from Buffalo to Canada went as planned and on schedule. Lt. Matthews set up shop on top of the tallest skyscraper in the area. By doing this, the best marksman in the US Marine Corps would be able to see all over enemy movements. After the first boat headed across the lake, Lt. Matthews saw his enemy for the first time. It was a platoon of conscripts, heading to where the forces were launching off. Matthews took up careful aim… BANG! One conscript dropped. Not knowing what the hell happened, the remaining conscripts turn around and run. BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Four more conscripts bite the dust. "Bastards. It’s what they get" Matthews mutters under his breath. Five minutes later, after 1 more platoon loaded into a transport, three tesla troopers walk into Matthews scope. BANG! BANG! Two-drop before they even heard the shots.

After all the men, and armor reached the beach, three conscripts, an engineer, and two tesla troopers came running into view… BANG! BANG! BANG! All tree conscripts saw there last day on earth. BANG! BANG! BANG! The engineer and two tesla trooper fall to street, but one tesla trooper gets up, turns around, and falls. Two minutes later, Matthews hears a humming sound. He looks up and sees a Nighthawk Transport Helicopter coming to pick him up. Two minutes later, Lt. Matthews receives word that Andrews Air Force Base has fallen to the Reds.
