The Price of Glory - Chapter 4 written by cickem

As Price's squad pulled up their guns, ready to put up a desperate defense, they heard in a thick German accent, "You have nowhere to run, put your weapons down, NOW!!!". Price was now wondering why a commie soldier would speak German. I thought the commies were Soviet, not German' he thought to himself. He lowered his weapon, and asked their commanding officer to have a word with him. "No deal, surrender first.", responded another soldier, again with a thick German accent. " I'm an American," Price began to say, " I'm looking for a way to California H.Q., who are you?"

"We are Germans, of course," came the response, " we were sent here by our government and equipped by yours. We're part of the Deustchland Elite Paratroopers."

"Really, then why have I not heard of your arrival, or you even being sent here?" Price asked the tallest one.

"It was supposed to be a secret. Our mission was, once the commie bastards broke through your lines, we were supposed to attack from behind, but we got cut of from the main body of men, and thus we cannot attack."

"Okay, but I still need to know how to get to Cal. H.Q, and fast."

"We have and old WWII Stewart tank, that's basically it. Ther's no ammo for the .50 Cal., so you'll have to do with the 30 mm cannon." the German commander suggested.

"That'll do fine, thank you." Price said, even though he'd rather have a Humvee. He decided he should take some Panzefausts, a few clips for his new SR77, and rounds for his mens' guns. They decided they should eat, and probably take some MRE's with them, they just might come in handy. With their stomachs full, they took a quick rest.

As the squad was departing, Price decided that his unit should re-equip themselves, just in case they ran into any Soviet infantry, or worse, dogs. The dogs of the Soviet military were better trained than their human "friends". They could actually KILL somebody, rather than just fire like a commie with his head cut-off. After three hours of driving in the open landscape, Price finally saw Cal. H.Q in his night-vision binoculars. He could see about 4 Rhino heavies, and only two guards, most likely Tesla Troopers. He ordered the squad out of the Stewart, and they advanced.

To be continued.....
