Chapter
1
Finally the war against the communist powers was over. Well, In my opinion, no. The loss of Moscow and the capture of Romanov was devastating, I'm sure that those soviets still have fight in them. But that treaty seems to
dismantled them, so I guess that It's safe to assume the worst is over, but at what cost? I am a G.I. in Srg. Alexander's squad codenamed POLiberty. I live in NY, NY. I still remember the days on the farm living with my Grandparents. But
I decided to join the U.S. military and move to NY so I could see America at it's finest everyday. But on that day, I observed firsthand the soviet invasion of the east coast. I still remember the screams and the whirr of the Kirov engines. I still remember the Statue Of Liberty
toppling, with the spirit of America transparently falling among it. My squad was called out to protect
southern Michigan, for that was the ASSUMED direction of an infantry battalion. My squad was small, with myself, Mike, Calvin, Larry, Ron, and about 75 others, I just know these fellows
personally. We were trained almost to the degree of Green Berets, but lacked the know-how to learn all the tactical info. they required.
Anyway, we were garrisoned on the southern tip of Michigan, ready to hold off any attempt of the Soviets invading westward. Srg. Alexander commanded the squad, " EVERYONE, INTERCEPTION OF SOVIET COMMINIQUE SHOWS THEY ARE MOVING A FLEET OF CONSCRIPTS AND LIGHT TANKS MOVING TOWARD LANSING, WE WILL STAY HERE UNTIL ARMORED REINFORCEMENTS ARRIVE....EXPECT ACTION WITHIN 3 DAYS! THAT IS ALL" Hmmmmm, yes,
I still remember that battle. "WHERE ARE THOSE REINFORCEMENTS!!!!!" Bullets whizzed by as we pounded the untrained conscripts into even redder pulp than they already were. "DIE YOU FU***** COMMIE BASTARDS!!! ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" Heh, yeah that was Calvin. Crazy as hell when it comes to automatic weapons. He always did get into the chaos of the battles with vulgar insanity but damn could he be accurate. He must have got 75 conscripts down thanks to our surprise attack. But then the tide turned. "SOVIET TANKS HAVE LOCKED ON OUR POSITIONS! PREPARE FOR IMPACT MEN!" We were garrisoned in several small structures, with me, Mike, Calvin, and 20 other GI's
I didn't know. I saw an office building crumble right next to us with such power the tank that shot it reared up from the blast. "Poor guys"
I thought. Then I thought again. "PREPARE FOR IMPACT? WE GOTTA GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!
SERGEANT, ARE YOU NUTS? WE GOTTA LEAVE N----" The McDonalds we were stationed in got half of the structure blown apart, with such an impact the roar of the tank shell actually blew a guy apart. Somehow, me, Mike, Calvin, Srg, and 7
GI's survived. We were now at the mercy of the soviet tanks......
"GUYS I'M SORRY" Calvin yelled as he ran straight toward a tank "WHAT THE HELLA RE YOU DOING PRIVATE? WE GOTTA RUN NOW!" Calvin started running, jumping over corpses and
finally jumping on top of the center tank of the 3 that were there. " YOU GUYS, DEFEND THE STATES WITH YOUR VERY EXISTENCE." All we could do was watch in awe as he pulled a heavy grenade from his belt and pulled the pin. He held it high in the golden sunset and then plunged it on top of the tank....and then it was all over.
A huge blast destroyed the tanks and made us fly back into a public pool. The tanks were nothing but
unidentifiable black mounds....and no trace of Calvin left. "My god.....MEN, let's.....let's move it out." We crawled out of the pool and all we did was stare at the black mounds a shrapnel, which did actually shred us up a bit. We used medical supplies and just sat there...........waiting for nothing......but we for some reason......waited. Then we heard engines in the distance and saw that 15 tanks had arrived, along with about 8 IFV's. We told them the story and they carted us, actually, back to a base which gave us a transport back to our homes.
That was my only battle. Hmmmmm amazingly, I wasn't called out anymore. I sat at the dining table in my old home in Missouri. My grandparents were gone, but
I felt compelled to return. So I sat there, in the old dusty house. In one chair in a dark room, no windows. This can't be America. America doesn't get attacked on
surprise. Other countries do. Not America. But, it happened......we lost so much.....out country is on the way to a recession.....what the Soviets did wasn't human. It
just doesn't seem that....one human could do such to others.....agh.....I gotta stop thinking about it.
It will never be the same anymore.....I sat there listening to a radio.....what was going conscripts found in deserted buildings every hour or so, heh. Then something new came up. "THE PRESIDENT HAS
RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM YURI, ROMANOV'S PRIME ADVISOR, THAT HE HAS TAKEN OVER THE BODIES AND MINDS OF OVER THREE FOURTHS OF THE WORLD NOW.....THE U.S. WILL BE A COLONY IN WHAT SEEMS TO BE ABOUT AN HOUR.....MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS." Heh, well,
I guess that's it for us. It's just not the same anymore....I'm so sorry it had to end like this
Calvin...
