The
new Tanya, played by the beautiful actress Kari Wuhrer, had this
to say about her part in RA2: "I kicked in doors, played with
guns, punched guys in the face and had more fun than really should
be legal. I don't get many roles where I get to, literally, kick
ass." |
Ray
Wise, who played in the TV show Twin Peaks, plays the
"Kennedy-esque" President Dugan, who must face the
invasion of the United States and all the decisions that go with
it. "I can't wait to see myself in this computer game on a
computer and be able to play myself," said Ray Wise about
playing in a video game. |
Barry
Corbin plays General Carville, Allied command's highest-ranking
officer with a wry Texas demeanor. He played another General in a
movie called War Games back in 1983. |
Premier
Alex Romanov:
He is looking for revenge for the fall of the Soviet Union and
will do anything for Mother Russia. The Americans underestimated
his craftiness. |
In
the next three pictures we see Ron Wild, an Emmy-winning special
effects make-up genius who worked on Godzilla, Battlefield
Earth and Babylon 5, prepare Udo Kier (Blade, Armageddon)
who plays the Soviet's Yuri the Psychic. |
"I
love working on games because you get to create a huge variety of
unusual characters," Wild says. "After five different
Westwood games, I've done everything from demonic witches to
cyborgs to full-body space suits. On every project, I'm always
impressed with how high the production values are." |
And
the finished product. Udo Kier (Yuri) is all ready for action. Ron
also did the wild hairdo you see in the next picture below of
Einstein. |
Albert
Einstein:
He returns from the original Red Alert! The renowned physicist
uses his cutting-edge research into chrono-technology to help
defend American soil. He also is rumored to be working on a time
device. |
The Red
Alert 2 film sequences serve as motivation for Red Alert 2
players who will command vast armies over large battlefields. With
each successful mission, the player sees the results of his good
work, a film clip that tells another chapter in the story.
"The story is definitely fun, but at the same time, we're
taking creative liberties with some sensitive areas: patriotism,
communist aggression, and the invasion of your home," says
Donny Miele, executive director of dramatic assets for Westwood
Studios. "The idea that America can be invaded, and would
have to plea with the rest of the world for help, makes the blood
boil just a little, which is why it makes for a great story."
