RADEN's Map Hosting Policy

Here at RADEN we DO NOT automatically host every map sent to us. We don't have categories where we give em stars, diamonds, points, numbers, or whatever. There are plenty of sites in the community that will take your map, no matter what it looks like or plays like. If your only interested in getting someone to host your map no matter what, then your at the wrong place. At RADEN, we have a set standard we judge maps by. Not everyone may agree with this policy or maps we choose to host. But regardless of who agrees or disagrees, your map must meet that standard in order to be hosted. Please keep this in mind when submitting your map. Currently only 20% of maps submitted for hosting actually make it on RADEN. We are not interested in the number of maps we have available for downloading. We are more interested in the quality of maps. If you cannot accept the possibility of your map being rejected, then DO NOT submit it to us.

RADEN does have an in-house map maker that will be happy to answer any questions you may have concerning map making using Final Alert2. If you wish to contact him, here is RVMECH's email address:

What steps can you take to improve your chances of getting your map hosted by RADEN?

  • Before submitting your map, make sure you have tested it thoroughly for playability. If you have included cliffs with plateaus and ramps, make sure the units can get to the top. Don't forget to add repair huts for any bridges if you want the bridges repairable.
  • Check your map carefully in the map editor for any tiling errors. Tiling errors are usually cause for rejection of your map. In fact, they are the number one reason we reject maps for hosting on RADEN.
  • Don't overdo your map. Too much of a good thing is not always good. When putting gems and ore on your map, keep in mind you do want the game to end sometime this century =)
  • Try and come up with some kind of theme for your map layout. In other words, don't just haphazardly slap down buildings here and there. Take your time and give the map some meaning. Put that extra thought and detail into it. It will make your map more enjoyable for others to play on.
  • Whenever you submit your map for hosting, make sure to include a detailed readme file containing a description of your map. Before sending it to RADEN, place your map file and readme file in a zip folder. Send all maps to the following address:  webmaster@cncgames.com

Finally, in an effort to help those who are novice map makers and have a desire to improve themselves, we have created a great set of map tutorials for your use. You can find them here. Our goal is for YOU to become a better map maker, which in turn will benefit the entire community. We are encouraging you to develop your skills. Our intension IS NOT to discourage you in any way. With practice and patience you can hone and develop your talent if you really desire to.

Good luck with your map making!
