GI: The GI is the basic Allied foot soldier. He is a far superior soldier to the Soviet Conscript and can usually get at least a 2:1 kill ratio against Soviet soldiers. If you double-click on the unit it will deploy in a sandbag for extra protection against the enemy. You can also select one or a group of units and press "D" on your keyboard to deploy or undeploy them.

ROCKETEER: Very similar to the Jump-jet infantry in Tiberian Sun. With his rocket pack and a bazooka, the rocketeer shuns walking in favor of flying, making him excellent for quick counterattacks. Use him for both land and air targets. Great defense against Soviet Kirovs, but keep em out of the way of enemy air defenses.

CHRONO LEGIONNAIRE: With his time-warping chrono suit, the Chrono Legionnaire can teleport from place to place. Has a slow rate of fire but one hit automatically erases an enemy unit from history. Use em in groups of 3-5 to get the job done right.

?

SPY: The spy returns in Red Alert 2. Like the name implies, the spy specializes in espionage and subterfuge. Since the spy looks friendly to enemy units, he can sneak into enemy bases undetected and interrupt the enemies' power supply, steal technology, or transfer credits to your account when he enters an enemy Refinery. The only good defense against the Allied spy is attack dogs, who can smell the true face behind the facade. Watch out for the dogs! Nasty bite =)

TANYA: That's right...she's back! This babe of a soldier carries C4 charges to flatten enemy buildings and sink ships with one hit. She can also swim this time around! On the down side, no bikinis are allowed. That's Kari Wuhrer on your left, the actress who plays Tanya in the FMV cut scenes....

Engineer: Use this unit to take over enemy structures. It can also be used to repair your structures such as garrisoned buildings and your base buildings...bridges too! When placed in an IFV, the IFV becomes a repair vehicle. Take it to the battlefield and repair your tanks. Keep a few inside your base for emergency repairs.

Paratroopers: These are the airborn variation of the allied troopers. They are dropped by slow moving planes. You get 8 GI soldiers with the drop if your playing the American faction. If you capture a Tech Airport you'll get five of em.

Navy SEALs: They go where most men don't dare to go. Elite troopers that can swim. Watch out around the Soviet Giant Squid, though, as the SEALs might just become a tasty meal for these hungry fish. NOTE: SEALs are not buildable in multiplayer/skirmish games.

Allied Mobile Units (land - sea - air)

            Image                                        Description

MCV: This is your mobile const. vehicle. Use it to set up new bases. You need to build a War Factory and Service Depot before you can build the base on wheels. Then take your act on the road!

AIRCRAFT CARRIER: Launches aircraft that attack enemy targets. Aircraft replenish weapons automatically at no cost to the player. No need to buy planes. If you lose one they are replaced free! You get three Harriers per ship. Always use Destroyers and Aegis Cruisers for escort ships to protect your Carrier.

Destroyer: Deploys an aircraft called the Osprey that can attack submarines. Also can attack shorelines. It needs air protection, so use the Aegis Cruiser for an escort.

AEGIS CRUISER: This pricey anti-air ship returns investment handsomely. A single unit can shoot down anything flying in great numbers, making it the perfect anti-aircraft weapon. Their missiles can even shoot down the long range rockets fired by Soviet Dreadnoughts, not just manned aircraft. Must be protected.

Hover Craft: Can travel over land or water without difficulty. Use it to carry troops. This vehicle is unarmed so it will have to be protected.

DOLPHIN: Flipper with an attitude OUCH!: sub-surface unit that can devastate enemy forces with a special sonic attack. Also can detect enemy submarines. It is invisible to radar.

Infantry Fighting Vehicle: These are versatile little tanks that take on the capabilities of whatever infantry you put inside of it. Without any passenger, they carry a small missile that fires on both air and ground units. Slap an engineer in the IFV and you get a repair vehicle! Put a GI at the wheel, and the IFV gets a bigger gun, etc.

GRIZZLY BATTLE TANK: The standard Allied forces tank. Not as powerful as the Soviets Grizzly tank, but is most effective when grouped in large numbers along with other support vehicles. Did i hear someone say TANK RUSH!

Mirage Tanks: Mirage tanks can automatically take on the form of random objects on the map like a tree. They uncloak when they move or fire at an enemy unit. They are best used in groups of 3-5. Place them where you can ambush the enemy.

Prism Tank: These tanks use Prism technology to attack. The concentrated light beams they shoot can actually bounce off targets and hit nearby units. Best used in groups of 3 or more.

INTRUDER: This attack aircraft is the stock Allied air force. It attacks from the flight deck of the Aircraft Carrier. It is not buildable. You get 3 of them per Aircraft Carrier. Downed planes are automatically replaced for you.

Harrier Jets: You must build an Air Force Command to get these units. Great for aerial assaults on the enemy base. You can build 4 Jets for each AFC you build. Most effective to have 2 Air Force Command centers and build 8 Harriers. They will take out just about any enemy building with 8. I like to build 3 AFCs and use 12 planes.,

Transport Helicopter: You can transport a limited number of troops anywhere on the map with this unit. Haul anything from infantry to Tanya or Engineers. It's invisible to enemy radar!

CHRONO MINER: This unit is used to gather your ore. The efficient mining vehicle harvests ore, and then automatically teleports back to the refinery when done. Must still drive to ore site once it has unloaded its ore. Miner will drive home if Refinery has another Miner in it. If a Soviet Terror Drone gets inside your Miner, it will dump the Drone out at the Refinery.
